Unable to find immigration records, Naturalization records, Swiss Canton he emigrated from.

Tripet have been citizens of Chézard-Saint-Martin (Neuchâtel) since before 1800. In 1810 a line from there gained citizenship of Basel (the city).

As he left Switzerland after 1876 he should be registered at the Civil Registry Office of his place of citizenship. I recommend you contact the office responsible for Chézard-Saint-Martin first:

and ask
1. if your ancestor can be identified in their register - and if yes
2. what you are expected to do (and pay) for a "Familienschein".

If he was not a citizen of Chézard-Saint-Martin, contact the office (Zivilstandsamt) in Basel:

Thanks for getting back to me. I have had little luck finding anything on Gaston and his family. We have this awesome picture of him looking a bit 'buzzed' but that's about all.
