Macquat von Bonfol JU

Hello, I hope it is ok to ask in English (mon Francais n'est pas bon).

I am looking for clues regarding:

Macquat, Emma Marie (Maria)
* 1886-12-10
Bonfol, Bern (Jura)
+ 1929-02-05

Whose parents are: Jean-Baptiste Olivier Macquat and Therese Fleuhr.

Which 'clues' are you after? Are you a direct descendant of Marie Macquat? If so, the old cantonal family registers of Bonfol would show you the whole family structure of her parents and most probably also of the grandparents or even great-grandparents (if these registers still exist for this community).

Hi, thank you for the response. Yes, I am a direct descendant (she is the mother of my grandfather). There is ample information online for other parts of my family tree, but for Macquat what I have found is very limited and I have not been able to find her or connect her to any information I have found. Unfortunately I do not live in Europe, so I don't know how to access the family registers of Bonfol. How could I otherwise do that?

I am specifically looking to find any information on her parents (or siblings, if that can lead me to find her parents) and any other ancestors.

I suggest you contact the Civil Registry office of the canton Jura and ask them for copies or extracts of the page of Olivier Macquat-Fleury and the page of his father or even grandfather in the old cantonal register of burghers (Registres des bourgeois) of Bonfol.
Unfortunately, this service is not for free, but they will tell you the cost before they send you anything.
