Where can I obtain the birth certificate (even digital version) of a Jewish person that was born in 1905 in Munchen? I know the exact date of birth and death.
Thank you,
Mark

Re: Geburtsurkunde aus München
Hi Mark,
Munich Civil Register record service:
https://www.muenchen.de/rathaus/Stadtve ... rvice.html
sub-site to order birth certificates
https://formulare2.muenchen.de/process. ... kunde_neu0
Mind that the place of birth is essential. The above adress is only in charge for the City of Munich (and few suburbs), communities near Munich often have their own archives.
Good luck!

Viele danke!
If I am not sure about the exact part of the city/suburbs where the person was born, may I ask them for any details? How to do it?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Geburtsurkunde aus München
as long as the person was born within the competence of Standesamt München, name and birthday will do. No idea how promising it may be to enquire any other way than just filling in the forms and proceed as suggested on the site.
Since you mentioned the target person was Jewish, consider to contact the Munich congregation
https://www.ikg-m.de/ikg/kontakt/
Alternative: "Police records" were kept for Munich residents. Sort of family sheets with detailed infos, including street adresses, previous and future residences, best case even deaths/marriages for family members. A friend supplied me some from a Munich government archive. He is very skilled and ever willing to help (for free).
