Parisian Records - 1911 and prior

Beitrag von Jschili » Di 16. Nov 2021, 22:35

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to find advice as to which records may be available or could be searched through to find the following information:

We'd just learned a great grandmother, Gustavina Schili (25 March 1840 - Zunsweier, Baden, Germany) had moved to Parish at some point in time as she is documented as passing away on 3 Dec 1911 at 24 Rue Ramponeau, Paris, France.

We wish to know, since not very much is known about her and we hope to learn so much more, what records may be available for us to search to learn as much as possible about her here such as: the cause of her death, if she was living with anyone during this time, any travel documents that may exist between Germany and France for her travel, if she married while there, did she have any more children, do any documents or photographs of her or her address exist from around 1911?

Any information anyone could offer would be of benefit and greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance.

According to her death record, she was a cook (cuisinière) and not married (célibataire).

She's recorded as "Gustavia", not Gustavina.

Hi

Here you can find the records of the Civil records office of Paris:
http://archives.paris.fr/r/124/etat-civil-de-paris/
http://archives.paris.fr/r/284/etat-civ ... r-de-1860/

Here you can find some other documents for Paris online.
Census records do only exist for the years 1926, 1931 and 1936.

Death records don't mention the cause of death, but:
the address where the person died
the address where the person lived
the husband/widower of the deceased person
maybe also the parents of the deceased person
and the witnesses and/or informants of the death.

Rue Ramponeau, 20e arrondissement, Paris
There is a new building at 24 Rue Ramponeau.
