Wiesmann von (Nieder-/Ober-?) Neunforn TG

I have been able ti identify my Great Great Grandfather Achilles Arthur Wiesman DOB 08/05/1850 Evangelische Neunforn Thurgau Switzerland, Christening 30/05/1850. His parents Jacob Wiesmann and Rosine Catharine Braun I have not been able to identify their births or deaths or christening dates and therefore unable to go back further. If anybody could help me it would be very appreciated or give me some direction. I am considering going to Neunforn in March to see if I can look at church records and am wondering is this is very possible.

Hi Jerry,
Wasn't sure how reliable the above is because of the spelling of Jakob and Breaun and with that spelling it comes up with no children. It also leaves 8 years as being childless. If you use Jacob and Braun spelling then it comes up with Achilles Wiesmann whereby my current stumbling block. Is there somewhere in Neunforn Thurgau or even Switzerland where I can go to see documents or registers???? I know that Achilles emigrated to South Australia on the ship Adelaide sailing out of London in 1872 and of course I know all our history after that.

Hi Geoffrey
I did a lot of work on Neunforn and the Wiesmann (among others). I found most of the ancestors of your great great grandfather Jakob Wiesmann. He had (acc. my records) 5 children. Achille Arthur was born/bapt. in Sonvilier (Bern).
