Franz Joseph Stieger, geboren am 5. Feb. 1846 in Kobelwald (Kt.

http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resource ... ?id=111199
Viel Glück!

I have searched the St Louis website (http://genealogyinstlouis.accessgenealogy.com/), but there are no records there for a Frank or Joseph Steiger. The Missouri archives shows a Joseph Steiger that dies when he was 22. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resource ... ?id=122927
However it does not give a year for this record. It might be understand by the archivists looking at the nearby records. You would have to write to them.
Do you have the immigration to America? Reason or source why you beleve it was 1867 ?

The transformation of 'Stieger' to 'Steiger' is plausible.
So I guess, I will have to find a 1 dollar note and a US stamp for a self-addressed envelope :=|
P.S.:
Oberriet got a "Totenschein" (death certificate) from Missouri (just mentioning the name and the date).
