Schibig von Schywz SZ

Dear all,

I am currently doing researches about my Swiss ancestors:
Anna Maria Ulrich (born around 1856) and Josef Leonard Schibig (born around 1853).
They married in 1879, April 28th in Schwyz and chances are that they were also born there.

They then went to live in France. Their daughters were born in Claville, Eure (two of them in 1885).

If you have any information to share, I would be happy to get them!

welcome to the forum !

I cannot help directly with your question, apart from the information that Schibig have been citizens of the city of Schwyz since before 1800 - so they quite likely were also born there.

If your Schibig were actually Schwyz citizens, and as they got married after 1876, the family should be recorded in the Schwyz Civil Register. I recommend you contact the Zivilstandsamt Innerschwyz and ask
- if your ancestors can be identified on their register, and if yes
- what you are expected to do (and pay) to get a "Familienschein".

Now on an organisational note for the forum: in order not to become too chaotic, the usual approach is to discuss only a single family (surname of a given place of citizenship) in a single thread. In this thread only Schibig of Schwyz should be discussed.

Once you have more info on the wife's family (e.g. from the "Familienschein") a separate thread on Ulrich should be started. In the case of a married couple (like here) these two threads can then be linked.

ich glaube ich weiss wen sie suchen. Anna Maria Ulrich ist im Brunni Alpthal geboren am 28. März 1856 dem Martin Dominik Ulrich und der Rosa Fässler. Sie heiratete kirchlich in Schwyz am 28. April 1879 Josef Schibig geboren 2. April 1853 in Schwyz, Sohn des Josef Leonard Schibig und der Anna Maria Büecheler. Josef wohnte in Burg Schwyz.

Anna Maria Ulrich ist eine entfernte Verwandte zu mir.
