Hi:
My name is Ed and I live in Palo Alto, California.
I am trying to locate any descendents of Dr. (Med) Ulrich Werner Boller and Trudi Boller. They had a child born in May of 1947, probably in Zurich. In 1946, Dr. Boller was employed at the Nervenarzt in Zurich. Dr. Boller was born on May 2, 1905, in Zurich. Their descendents, if any, would be the last remaining relatives of mine in Switzerland. I am looking for suggestions on how I might trace them.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Ed

Hi Ed,
Personal data like entries in the civil registry after 1876 is protected by the Swiss laws on civil status. While the registry office would deliver to you data of your direct ancestors, you would need a formal permit to research on lateral lineages or offshoots. But even with such a payable permit, you would only get access to persons already deceased.

Re: Boller im Kanton Zürich
That's a tricky one.
First: Boller is a fairly common name in canton Zürich, with many places of citizenship, including the town of Zürich.
Second: Even if you had the correct place of citizenship, and the Civil Registry Office had this kind of information, the Civil Registry Ordinance would prevent them to hand it out - unless you are a direct descendant (which, I guess, you are not) - see Peter's comment.
As I am not familiar with the sources available in Zürich, I recommend you contact the State Archive and ask, whether any sources are around which could help in your case.
BTW - "Nervenarzt" is a profession (neurologist) - not a place where you could be employed. He could have been a practising neurologist - or have worked at an institution. What is the complete text of your source?

OK - so he was practising on his own.
Mention this when you contact the State Archive: there might be registers of medical practicioners.
