Roth in Diesbach GL

Beitrag von hmag » Fr 5. Dez 2014, 12:20

Hi,
I'm looking for any information on Marie Anne ROTH who was born in Diesbach ca 1749, maried at first Abram Simeon ROCHAZ from Le Pont VD, then Pierre Isaac MAGNIN from Corcelles sur Chavornay VD in June 1777. She died in Corcelles on 24 April 1791. She was my Sosa #65.
Best regards
Henri MAGNIN

Hi Henri

I checked the records of the parish books of Betschwanden (church to which Diesbach belongs) as well the one of Linthal (neighbour village) and couldn't find any Roth family members who fits to your Marie Ann Roth.

Best regards
Patrick

Many thanks.
I've been informed that Oberdiessbach (Bern) was named Diesbach in the XVIIIth century.
It could be the origin place of my ROTH.
Best regards
Henri

Good evening Henri

I checked the Swiss Family Name Book and I doubt that your Marie Ann Roth comes from Oberdiessbach in the Canton of Berne. Please see the list where all Roths are coming from in Switzerland: http://www.hls-dhs-dss.ch/famn/index.php. I have access to the book with all marriages in the Canton of Berne. In case I will find her, you will hear from me.

Kind regards
Patrick

Good evening Patrick,
In the documents I have, Marie Anne ROTH was said "from Diesbach", but it could mean "from the parish of Diesbach". It seems that cities like Brenzikofen and Buchholterberg used to be part of Oberdiessbach (Diesbach) parish, and there are ROTH there....
If you could find any information, I'd be very happy !
Best regards,
Henri
