Beitrag von perrotinc » Do 2. Jun 2016, 10:39

Hallo ! Hi ! Bonjour !

Es tut mir leide aber ich kann nicht dieses "email" in Deutsch schreiben. Ich habe niche viele vocabeln.

I'm looking for any information regarding my grand-grand father who was apparently born (based on my mother "Heimatort") in Wölflinswil and lived during most part of his life in Flisisbach.

His name was Karl HORT and his wife surname was MÜHLETALER (I don't have any date for them, except that they had at least a son, my grand-father Josef HORT 25.02.1927)

I don't have any other information about them, may I ask you any idea or database where I could enhance my research?

Thank you in advance for your help/information/answer of any king

Best regards

First of all: welcome to the forum !

Wölflinswil is one of the "old" (pre 1800) places of citizenship for Hort: as your mother's "Heimatort" is Wölflinswil, it is safe to assume that previous generations will also be found there.

Your known data are fairly recent (birth 1927). Consequently, unless a "cousin" reads this and responds, there will only be the official way via the Civil Registry Office responsible for Wölflinswil: Zivilstandsamt Laufenburg. To get a "Familienschein" will involve some paperwork (to get the permission) and fees. I recommend you contact this office and ask
1) what you are expected to provide and
2) what you will have to pay.

Thank your Wolf for the welcome !

May I ask you how do you know the place of Citizenship from the name Hort?

And moreover are you able to do the same for the name Perrotin (In Geneva), which is still my name, but we also have some part of mystery on this side of the family, but it's another story.

I have always heard that this part of the family was coming from Hungary "recently" (meaning my grand-grand father or the precedent generation, so after 1850). Is it possible that some part of the family emigrate before 1800 and the rest after? Or would you be able to see each movement?

But anyways, thank you very much for your informations. I will contact the Office and see what they are going to tell me.

There is a Register of Swiss Surnames, listing Wölfliswil as one of the pre-1800 ("a") places of citizenship for Hort.

There are two places of citizenship for Perrotin, both in canton Geneva, citizenships being granted in 1855 and 1907 respectively. The * indicates "unknown ancestry or citizenship under special statutory provisions" - which in the first half of the 19th century in most cases means that the community was forced by the Federal State to accept didicoys (? people without fixed place of living) as citizens.

Before we continue discussions on Perrotin: the forum structure is based on separate therads for different families. Consequently, if you want to discuss Perrotin, a new thread should be started.

Back to Hort:

Once you have further info, post it here: the further back your known information goes, the better are your chances for getting a response.

Thank you for this website, it's very interesting.

Do you know any newspaper on Aargau which could provide informations upon my family?

For Geneva I've found letempsarchives.ch which is very easy to use and perform research in the text of old newspaper (I've found my grand parents mariage date by this way and some anecdote upon them)

I will open another trade for the Perrotin side thank you :)

I have used http://www.letempsarchives.ch/ myself: very useful! I am not aware of anything similar for Aargau newspapers: archives known to me start during the 1990ies - of no use in your case.
