Mantel, Nassau-Dillenburg

Hello,
For some time now I have been trying to find one of my forefathers, Johan Heinrich Walter. Apparently he was born in a place called Mantel in Nassau-Dillenburg. The strange thing is that Nassau-Dillenburg didn\'t even exist any more when Johan Heinrich was born. The next strange thing is the place called Mantel... it doesn\'t exist. The only Mantel in Germany, is near the eastern border, which is miles away from the Netherlands, and also miles away from the former Nassau-Dillenburg.
I have contacted people from the place Mandeln, which is in the former Nassau-Dillenburg and seemed logical. Unfortunately no Johan Heinrich Walter was found, nor was his wife Anna Elisabeth Hoedensberg. I am quite sure that they were born and that they died in Germany. Another strange thing is the surname of Johan Heinrich his wife: Hoedensberg... I don\'t think it is a surname that has ever existed. They have probably made a mistake writing it down in the Netherlands. A dutch \'oe\' for example sounds like the german \'u\'. So if anyone knows a german surname in any way similar to Hoedensberg, please say so... it would solve a little piece of the puzzle.
Anyway: I could really use some help with the Mantel city, I really seem to be stuck. Some useful information: Johan Heinrich had a son who was born in Mantel around 1767. His name was Johannes (or Jannes) and he moved to The Netherlands when he was an adult.
So if anyone has any suggestion, please say so.
Cheers,
Robert
