Who can help?
I am searching for a Konrad Rost who is mentioned at Kuppenheim, Baden-Würtemburg, Germany as "natione Helvedus" and "natione suitius". He had married with Maria Barbara Ballauf and as from 1726 there children became born at Kuppenheim.
According to a version of the parish register of Kuppenheim he is born approx. 1681.
On the Internet site of LSD I find a Conrad Rost at Diessenhofen.

(if the link does not work copy and paste him in your browser)
Is this the Conrad which I am searching?
Did he came through the Rhine to Kuppenheim?
in advance thanks for the aid

Good evening,
I think that Kuppenheim might be the village Kippenheim in Baden-Württemberg. Information:
http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Kippenheim,_OFB
Information on the Swiss village Schlatt can be found at the National Archive of the Canton Thurgau:

Rost is not mentioned in the Register of Swiss Surnames - either the spelling has changed, or the line has become extinct. This source consequently doesn't give any hint where Rost families may have lived.
It was likley not a widespread family - so the Conrad Rost from Schlatt/Diessenhofen might (just might!) be "your" Conrad Rost. If no other info is available, likely the only way to get closer is to search the church records for other mentions of him - if there are none (not married, not died there), there is a fair chance he emigrated.

But it could also be Roost, a name still present in the Register of Swiss Surnames (from Unterschlatt TG, now part of Schlatt TG and close to Diessenhofen, or Beringen SH).
Ballauf is mentioned in Seuzach ZH, near Winterthur, the first time in 1602; they probably came from Schaffhausen (1418 Balduff).

Wolf, Peter,
Thanks for the information!
In Baden-Baden (+/-10 km from Kuppenheim) Joannes Georgius Rost were baptised on 3 sep 1724 in the Stiftskirche. Parents are Conradus Rost and Barbara Dollauff ! Probably they are the same that get children at Kuppenheim.
Ballauf, Dallauf, Balduff sounds the same…..
I try to find this original baptism certificate (not easy) and hope that these mentioned the place of origin of Conradus.
regards
Maria
