Places of citizenship (since before 1800) for the spelling Meyer in canton Thurgau are
- Braunau
- Frauenfeld
- Gottlieben
- Märstetten
So records for these communities should be checked first.

However, don't forget the possibility that the spelling has changed after emigration from one of several similar spellings (like Meier, Maier, ..... pronounced identically).

So it may be easier to try find out more info about his origin, before starting reserach in Switzerland, if nothing available in Canada, try Germany and England, where he seems to have lived nad hopefully will have left traces.

Thank you so very much. I have all the information about his life here in Canada so I will now check England. We had no idea about this wonderful portion of our family so this is a very exiting journey
