GENEAL-FORUM

My immagrant 5xgrandfather Johannes Bauman came to America aboard the ship Robert and Alice 1739 , purchased land from the Penn family in Lancaster county, near Annville.
I found the following family in Morman church records
Father Abraham Baumann
Mother Lisabetha Moelin
Children baptised Evangelisch, Arbon, Thurgau

Ulrich 27 Aug 1713
Johannes 21 Feb 1715
Abraham 1 Feb 1718.

I am offering a free DNA test if you have a paper trail to any of these 3 sons

Hello Mel,

Arbon is not a place of citizenship for Baumann - could be the case mainly for two reasons:

1) The family stayed there for a short while only. Did you check whether the name Baumann shows up in Arbon records for any length of time?

2) The family became extinct in Arbon - could have become extinct in all of Switzerland - or continued in a different line (different place of citizenship).

So - if you get a response from descendants - make sure to enquire about their place of citizenship, to help connect to other Baumann families.
