First, I wanted to thank those who responded to my earlier request for information about the Barths. It was much appreciated.

I now have a question about Catharina Dorotha Brandli and Hans Heinrich Schaeppi who were my great-great grandparents. According to the information that I have, they were from Horgen, Zurich, Switzerland. The US Census record indicates that Heinrich Schaeppi was born in 1815 while my notes indicate Catharina was born March 27, 1815 (although her tombstone says May 27, 1815). I would like to find out more about them, if possible. Specifically, what the marriage date was, Heinrich's birth date, their parents (if available), and their children. My great-grandmother was Caroline/ Karolina Schaeppi born on February 24, 1857 in Zurich as well. They migrated to the US apparently in 1869 according to the Census record. Other children that I believe are theirs are Catharina, Sophia, Heinrich (Henry), Anna, Susan, and Anna Barbara.

Let me begin with an organisational comment: only single families should be dicussed in a thread; threads of related families (e.g. of a married couple) can then be linked to each other.

So here only Schäppi of Horgen should be discussed - a separate thread exists for Brändli of Horgen.

From Familiennamenbuch I can confirm that both, Schäppi and Brändli, have been citizens of Horgen since before 1800.

Hopefully readers with more experience in Zürich can provide further help.
