I am looking for information on Bissegger (Byssegger) and Hugentobler in Canton Thurgau. I have an ancestor by the name of Abraham Bissegger that was born there and emmigrated to the US before our Civil War. He joined up and died as a result. I will be in Switzerland next month and might be able to take a side trip to see the area.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

If you check the Register of Swiss Surnames you'll find that Bissegger is quite a common name in canton Thurgau: without further information this will be searching for the needle in a heystack.

As for Hugentobler: we only discuss single families in each thread. If you want to discuss Hugentobler, please, start a new thread.
