GENEAL-FORUM

I am researching my family Christe that were located in Vendlincourt, Jura. I am having a hard time finding archival records. Any help you could offer on Jacques Christe born July 9,1801. His son Joseph Christe born September 26, 1823. Joseph Christe was baptised at the Parish of Saint Leger. Jacques Christe married Catherine Mammie July 9, 1822.

Where have you searched so far?

There are Civil Registers for the "French time period" 1793-1815, which could be of interest. They are kept at the Jura State Archive and have been filmed by the Mormons.

Whether the Citizens' Registers (most kept at the Civil Registry Office Delémont) date back far enough for you, I don't know: you best ask yourself.

Otherwise there are the church records, for Vendlincourt beginning in 1673: also filmed by the Mormons.

Hi Ann,

your question has mislead me to the asumption that you are beginning with your research, and needed some basic advice. This does not seem to be the case: it has been pointed out to me that you have already published many more data on geneanet.

It is always a good idea, when asking questions on a board like this, to describe the existing knowledge, and then (if already many data are known) describe exactly what you are looking for. Right now I cannot see, what this is.

Hi,

Yes. I am looking for the vital records that support the information (i.e. baptismal, census, birth, etc..)
