Eine Elisabeth Metzker(?) aus Gebratshofen (Allgäu) heiratet am 08.09.1917 in Bütschwil (Kanton St.Gallen, Schweiz) den Johann Robert Heeb (*08.06.1888) von Altstätten (Kanton St.Gallen, Schweiz).

Beim Familiennamen der Braut bin ich unsicher. Ich wäre deswegen froh, wenn sich jemand mit Erfahrung mit den in der Region üblichen Familiennamen den Eintrag (im Anhang) einmal anschauen könnte.

Noch erfreulicher wäre es natürlich, wenn jemand nähere Angaben zur Braut machen könnte .

I have found a reference to an Ida Metz that is listed as married to Johann Robert Heeb. The name is different, but the husband listed appears to be the same Heeb. If this perhaps is helpful?

Could be - what I read as Metzker has a small gap: "Metz ..." with "..." being an abbreviated given name?
What is the exact reference - and where did you find it?

Actually I found the name Ida Metz in this forum, doing a search for Johann Robert Heeb, same date of birth, the tree result shows a spouse named Ida Metz, and 2 children. There is no marriage date, but that seems to correspond to the dates of birth of the 2 children in 1919 and 1920.

Not in the forum, but the gedcom database Geneal-Tree. Berni gives a printed obituary as source - so reading a handwritten note should not be the problem. On the other hand - I don't see anything close to Ida in the Bürgerregister . I'll try to follow this up.

I have now received the marriage register entry Bütschwil: the bride's name is actually Maria Elisabeth Metz. What I read as "ker" (and first assumed to be part of the surname) is actually a cut off Maria.

Ida is wrong - likely the names of mother and daughter got mixed up - I will inform Berni about this.

In the meantime I got some "interesting" information from Berni: whilst in the marriage certificat she's named Maria Elisabeth Metz in her obituary notice (in the newspaper) she's Ida Metz - looks like she was called Ida in the family, and this was printed in the obituary notice.
