I am seeking information about Joseph Welte circa 1795-?. Joseph had sons Andrew/ Andreas Welte born 1827 and Isidore Welte born 1824. Both sons went to the United States of America. Andrew may have been disowned for leaving the priesthood. Isidore Welte named Joseph Welte as his father. I have DNA ties with a Catherina Welte born 1864, a Ludwina Welte who married a Theodore Lauber in Oeschgen, Laufenburg, Kanton Aargau, Switzerland, and a Klara Berta Welte born 1907 in Zurich. Unless someone on the forum has researched this exact family, it will be difficult: the church records of Frick are only available in the municipality or on microfilm in the State Archives in Aarau.

But the Welte obviously come from the hamlet Gipf, as you can see in the referenced brochure (page 6).
