Hello, I am looking for my ancestors named WALTER, of Löhningen, or for their children. I understand and also write german and french. Thank you for your help.

Chances to get a helpful response on such a general question are dim. You better give some detail, e.g. name and dates for the earliest ancestor known to you (for whom you are looking for ancestors) and/or the time frame in which you are looking for descendants.

My 2x great grandmother is Margareth (Margaretha, Maria) Walter daughter of Johannes Walter and Elisabetha Müller born in Löhningen on 29 December 1827.
I have done some research into my branch of the Walter family. A word of warning: I think there are a number of branches of the Walter/Walther name in Löhningen. It would therefore help to have some names to know if we are talking about the same branch.

My ancestor is Daniel WALTER born in Löhningen 13 February 1803. His wife is Barbara BOLLINGER born 11 August1805 in Löhningen. They had 6 children : Hans Georg born 08.12.1827 ; Anna born in 08.08.1829 ; Daniel born 27.03.1832 ; Barbara born 20.11.1835 ; Jacob born 25.07.1841 ; Bernhard born 27.05.1845.

I would like to know if those members of my family have also had children; I would also like to know about the ancestors of Daniel WALTER.

Hallo Christine,
The parish books for the Kanton Schaffhausen are online. You can find the baptism of Daniel Walter *13.2.1803 in Löhningen here. I read:
Daniel Walter and Anna Fletcher (Pletscher?) as parents, where Daniel has twin brother Hans Georg.
I was also able to locate this birth in familysearch.org. Just be careful with reusing this data. The quality varies greatly and I would use the original sources whenever possible to verify this.

Bei schneller Durchsicht der Familienregister I und III habe ich die Familien von Jakob *1841 und Bernhard *1845 gesehen. Teilweise sind auch in den beiden Eheregistern die Kinder eingetragen, so z.B. beim Blatt der Eltern Walter-Bollinger.

Wie von Lis schon ausgeführt wurde, ist die Suche in dieser Gemeinde schwierig, weil immer wieder die gleichen Namen und Vornamen bei verschiedenen Familien vorkommen.
Ausserdem sind in den Familienregistern aus der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts viele Seiten aus Datenschutzgründen abgedeckt. Der Kanton Schaffhausen betrachtet offenbar die Daten in den Zivilstandsregistern als "besonders schützenswert" und wendet dann die 100-jährige Schutzfrist der kantonalen Verordnung an! Das entspricht aber keineswegs dem Begriff "besonders schützenswert" aus dem eidgenössischen Datenschutzrecht.

I am very happy to have the news about Jacob Walter. I had found the other news in the register kindly indicated by other members.
Yes, it is very hard to find my ancestors between all the people named Walter. I think my ancestor is the only one of this family who came in France and lived there. I wanted to know of members of this family still live in Löhningen.

Since you are looking for living persons, I would suggest posting your ancestors information on Facebook, and wait for any responses. On Geneal-Forum, they provide a tiny Facebook icon located in the lower right hand side of the messages.

Sorry for the delay - a busy time of the year!
I have searched through my data base however none of the names you mention match anything I have. Coincidentally, when I searched on the link provided by Peter D. for the der Eltern Walter-Bollinger I see my family (also Walter-Bollinger) at the top of the page. In my family Johannes Walter married Verena Bollinger. You can see how complicated research can become!!
I agree with Walt that Facebook may be helpful.
I also have made contact with a distant, but living, relative through the FamilySearch website, see below. I used the family tree and looked to see who had made changes, or contributed information to people in the tree who were also my ancestors. I then sent a message through the website and she responded. A note: a reply is not guaranteed!!

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, we seem not to be relatives, between all the "Walter" and "Bollinger".
Peter has also sent important informations but on the page "Jacob" born in 1841, I don't understand his job (Beruf) I can't read the word. If someone can help me to understand the word.
As you say, I will try with family search.

Jakob is "Weber" (weaver).
