First of all: welcome to the forum :).

A question, however: what is the source for Ilanz - could it be a reading error? At least the Auszug is from Illhart in canton Thurgau, where Rüd have been citizens since before 1800.

Church records of canton Thurgau have been filmed/digitized by familysearch. The indices are freely accessible (from home) - to view the actual images you have to visit a familysearch centre.

You find the index entry for Johannes Rüd, * 07.01.1853, ≈ 16.01.1853 on https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... 9V?lang=de. In a familysearch centre you can just click on the symbol and view the original record.

Consequently I have re-named your topic and moved it to Thurgau.

Best regards - Wolf

Don't forget to check the Familienbuch (Illhart, Lamperswil) 1787-1954 ... where you (hopefully) will find the entire family.
