Im am looking for the family of Marthaler.

My Marthaler ancestor married Jacob Schlatter who was born 1744 in Oerglatt and died in 1810 in Oberglatt. His wife was a Marthaler we do not know her christian name by the dates of Jacob Schlatter I assume that she was born between 1744 and 1750 probably also in Oberglatt any help would be greatly appreciated.

Marthaler are citizens since before 1800 in canton Zürich in
- Dänikon
- Niederhasli
- Regensdorf
Other Marthaler lines are citizens in canton Bern.

If the husband was born and buried in Oberglatt, your best starting point would be the Oberglatt church records (have been filmed by LDS): you may find the wedding (which could have taken place somewhere else, of course) - or the mother’s name in christening records of their children - or her burial entry.

thank you for your reply - I will try the LDS - I am not sure if I will have much success there but will try. I have the Schlatter information going back quite far and this 'unknown' Marthaler is listed within that. I suspect that perhaps the handwriting in the original listing may not be legible which is why the information was returned to me as 'unknown' Marthaler. She definetly married Jacob Schlatter born 1744 in Oberglatt probably in the 1860s. her first name has to be lsited somewhere and I will continue to look and thank you for your advice which I will follow.
